Ten Wedding Day Tips

Some weddings go exactly as planned but most end up slightly off-schedule.  Here are some tips to avoid needless stress so that you can fully enjoy your day:

1-Have your hair and makeup done as early as possible. Make sure to get dressed ahead of time because it often takes longer than anticipated to pin veils and tie sashes.  Groomsmen should start getting ready an hour before they think they should.  Cuff links, boutonnières, bow ties and shirt studs always take extra time.

2-Start your day with something healthy to eat and stay hydrated.

3-Have someone keep track of time or hire a wedding planner. Delegate someone who will make sure things are running smoothly and reasonably on time.  Write an itinerary for the big day and make copies to give to a few good friends, close family members and your photographer.

4-Take as many photographs of you and your bridal party before the ceremony so you can spend more time mingling with guests at cocktail hour.

5-Bring an emergency kit with safety pins, sewing kit, breath mints, band-aids, tissues, aspirin and hand cream.

6-Include time in your schedule for the receiving line, and family group photos.  Assign someone to gather and notify family members in advance and to read off the list. The photographer will be busy arranging people.

7-Make sure sure to send directions and parking information to your guests your limo driver, and photographer with specific addresses for ceremony and reception site.

8-Remember to leave extra time for traveling between locations if you’ll have photographs taken in several locations.

9-Remember to include some precious time alone for the “couples photos”, especially if the ceremony or reception is located in a picturesque setting.

10- Don’t set your expectations too high and don’t stress out.  Whatever mistakes happen will be just another amusing story to tell about your wedding day. Remember your wedding only lasts a day; your marriage lasts a lifetime.

Having a schedule and leaving time in-between events will ensure that your day goes smoothly.  You will look more relaxed and natural in your photographs if you give yourself some extra time.

I hope you found these tips to be helpful!
